greetings!

kword cvs of early yesterday afternoon, eastern u.s. time, built 
against qt-2.2.3 with xfs enabled. running with a g-400 at 1280x1024, 
using default pagesize and 150 percent zoom.

the line where the typing takes place looks fine unless the space bar 
is hit, in which case the entire line becomes transparent; it 
reappears when a character is typed, and disappears again when the 
space bar is hit. extremely strange.

this may be related to the fact that in all of kde2, cvs of last 
couple of weeks and with xfs enabled in qt, highlighting even a 
single character causes the entire line to go very dim, almost white.

just a report, in case it's of interest.
