The main reason is that this section is the *official* voice of the koffice project, so what belongs in that section are articles that are representative of the whole community, while, blogs by definition are representative of one developer opinion. But when a blog appears in the *official* channel, it is a one-developer-opinion that is shown as a official message. Blogs however will appear in the "blogs" section of the "life stream". This is why, for instance, [1], in its current state do not belongs to the front page. I have documented a few rules in [2], they were in the spirit of what was discussed during the meeting [3], and are similar to what is used for the dot [4]. Lets restate them here (one more time): * impersonal article, which does not includes the personal opinion of the author * you can get a recurring theme (like "Last Week In KOffice"), but that theme need to be discussed with the community and will get a clear mandate (in case of lwik, transforms the community activity, mostly commits, into a user readable article) * people are encouraged to write article for the news section, following the guidelines expressed in [2] and [4], and to discuss their article before publication with the community If anyone has issues with this, now is the time to give your arguments of why things should be different.
