Thomas, the burden on proof is on you. If you want to remove someone from 
copyrights, I expect you to come up with an extensive case study, presented 
here on the mailing list and asking the person in question beforehand. And 
certainly not hidden away in a big commit where it's not even mentioned in the 
commit message.

If Pierre have even a single comma left in the file his copyright is still 
applicable. Even without the original code some other code might be based on 
it. Once the copyright has been added it can not be removed. Removing it 
constitutes property theft!

I consider this is a very serious issue.
