Hello,
I have some results of investigation of bug \
https://projects.maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=150283 and I like to consult it \
with you guys if I'm right.
Caption in OpenOffice is not some special object saved via real caption tags \
(draw:caption) as I suspect from documentation, but it's simple 'caption' text inside \
of structure:
frame (1)
text-box
text:p
frame (2) (picture as link)
'caption' (as simple text)
rendering of caption means rendering of that type of structure. We probably don't \
have some special support to handle that.
How is it rendered in OpenOffice ? It's simple text, but picture does not have \
behavior as character of text, so text is printed below the picture.
Default behavior of Kword is that text is printed with picture as character and it \
doesn't look good, because text is printed thru picture or sometimes next the \
picture, but there's only tinny place between two frames. Result is not good, and it \
also depends on size of picture.
There are more problems related to that, but let's solve default text and picture \
relation first.
Possible solution is change default behavior of picture and text relation to not have \
picture as a part of text as character (my opinion) Where can be that changed ? May \
it be changed ? May it be simply changed ?
Maybe another solution (maybe not probable) is somehow handle that type of structure \
as caption.
Just for information - some related problems:
OpenOffice changes picture inside of frame (1) on resize of frame (2) - not same in \
Kword OpenOffice has relation between styles in style.xml which are lost in Kword \
(maybe OK and replaced somehow) OpenOffice doesn't allow write caption text somewhere \
else instead below the picture (probably will be solved with default or relative \
behavior of picture)
Palo
Best regards
