glib is pulled in by libgsf2, the library wv2 uses to read OLE files. By the 
time wv2 was started, gsf2 was the best choice, maybe there's a viable 
alternative by now. It's all encapsulated in the OLEStream* classes, you just 
need to replace the backend.
