Eek, too late now, isn't it? I'm also not sure that we have
got someone right now who could weigh in on this debate. 

To me (but I'm not a spreadsheet specialist) it seems that Dough and Rob
are saying substantially the same thing: pity openformula isn't ready yet,
weird that OOo is already using it, Rob and Doug only differ in whether it was a
good, useful decision by MS to add third way to save formula's to the mix.
I don't think so, actually, but I can see where MS is coming from.

Apart from the namespace issues, there _is_ considerable interoperability
between openformula-specified formulas and old-style ods formula
implementations, while there is none between the excel type formula's in ODF
and any other implementation.

Basically, the ODF formula implementations used to be pretty interoperable; the
interoperability has decreased, but we're confident it'll get better in
the near future.
