Currently, we have: Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter, kexi Creativity Applications: kivio, karbon14, krita Management Application: kplato Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula The two main criticism against this scheme were that kivio doesn't really belong to the same category as karbon and krita, and kivio looks a little bit lonely in its own category. Which lead to the suggestion of having: Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter, kexi, kivio Creativity Applications: karbon14, krita Management Application: kplato Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula But, it was noted that having almost all applications in one category was a bit silly, and defeat the point on having categories, so it was also suggested that "Productivity Applications" would be restricted to the "classical" three core office suite applications. Which lead to those categories: Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter Creativity Applications: karbon14, krita Management Applications: kplato, kexi, kivio Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula But the name of the third category, "Management Applications" is now questioned. I would like to know what person think about the categories ? Other ideas of categories, and of which applications belong where ? And also about the name of those categories. Currently, what is urgent is the categories, since they decide the colors for the icons. -- Cyrille Berger --Boundary-00=_qWspJDQMfDu1ri4 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi,

As you know the oxygen team is currently working on the icons for KOffice 2.0 applications, our logos are descritely used in those icons, since we used four colors for each of the category, this raised, on IRC, the question on the categories, and which apps belongs to which category.

Currently, we have:
Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter, kexi
Creativity Applications: kivio, karbon14, krita
Management Application: kplato
Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula

The two main criticism against this scheme were that kivio doesn't really belong to the same category as karbon and krita, and kivio looks a little bit lonely in its own category.

Which lead to the suggestion of having:
Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter, kexi, kivio
Creativity Applications: karbon14, krita
Management Application: kplato
Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula

But, it was noted that having almost all applications in one category was a bit silly, and defeat the point on having categories, so it was also suggested that "Productivity Applications" would be restricted to the "classical" three core office suite applications. Which lead to those categories:

Productivity Applications: kword, kspread, kpresenter
Creativity Applications: karbon14, krita
Management Applications: kplato, kexi, kivio
Supporting Applications: kchart, kformula

But the name of the third category, "Management Applications" is now questioned.

I would like to know what person think about the categories ? Other ideas of categories, and of which applications belong where ? And also about the name of those categories. Currently, what is urgent is the categories, since they decide the colors for the icons.
