Yes, of course, that's probably our only choice so far... I don't think 
anybody is both crazy and good enough to rewrite every filter before the 2.0 
release :)
But what will we do in the not-so-far future, after 2.0 ?
I know it is probably too soon to speak about that, but I saw this issue and 
decided to mention it, that's all. It can't hurt to have this kind of 
discussion, can it ?
