Even if you don't bring the topic up, it will always be at the back of someone's mind, so what I plan to do is confront the question head-on and even put a positive spin on it. It could use some refining, but it's good to know where your product stands. The way I've described it, it fills a completely different niche than Open Office. > KOffice has various unique features and I feel we should > show them to the user in a way that they feel this is a better > way to get things done then whatever they use currently. Hey! Good one! We'll need a "User cases" section in the Discover section. Unfortunately you won't be able to count on many people for this one (yet), since KOffice 2 is not officially out yet. :\ Well... to be seen. (as for the long boring list of features, each application will have its own feature list. The Applications page of the Discovery section is just a quick overview so that you know just what each application is about at a glance. Speaking as an idiot: I still don't get exactly what application is doing what) > KOffice is very modular indeed. The extreme example is that > the text-component of KWord is actually a plugin which > KWord uses but all other KOffice apps also directly use. Excellent! Added! > And also Qt + KDE are part of the reason while development > is fast and efficient, I think it is worth to mention it Added too. :P http://koffice2-website-redesign.wikidot.com/content-breakdown One day, I hope that Workspaces could also be added to that list of features (the hype value could be tremendous). > I disagree, while the banner are clearly not perfect, but > since that's only a proof of concept, it's understandable, I > think that for a banner it make sense to have the text on the right. Yes, I didn't want to spend a day on proof of concept. D: We'll leave it up to the designers. The winning design takes it. If the text is on the bottom, then it remains on the bottom. If it's on the right, then so be it too. Which reminds me, I forgot to include somewhere a resource section (for the final website organization, I mean), including the logos. D: Ah well, I'll have to think about it later. _______________________________________________ koffice-devel mailing list koffice-devel@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/koffice-devel
