KOffice is very modular indeed.
The extreme example is that the text-component of KWord is actually a plugin 
which KWord uses but all other KOffice apps also directly use.
This has the immediate effect that all the text-editing and ODF capabilities 
present in KWord are also available in Krita without conversion.
