this bug is really critical and should be worked on. Please consider it as 
(not only) I need kspread for my calculations. Whenever I enter a value as 
EURO (¤) value and save my document, the format will get lost. The next time 
I load the file again, the entry is only there as a normal number.

This is only a small example for the big problem of cell formats which get 
lost under certain conditions. Also, you cannot mark an entire column and 
define a format.
