Hmmm, I wanted to test it, but it seems someone at trolltech had the 
'brilliant' idea to name debug versions not the same as regular versions :/ 
So I got:

g++ -shared -Wl,-soname,libflake.so.1 -o libflake.so.1.0.0 KoGraphicBase.o 
KoPathGfxObj.o KoSelection.o   -L/usr/lib -lQtGui_debug -lQtCore_debug 
-lpthread
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lQtGui_debug

Of course, it wouldn't be as much as a problem, if it weren't for the huge 
sizes the debug version has:

apt-get install libqt4-debug-dev libqt4-debug
Need to get 51.7MB of archives.
After unpacking 174MB of additional disk space will be used.
:-/

To summarize, maybe it would be a better idea to _disable_ debug by default 
(until someone beats somebody at trolltech, or at least debian ;) to fix 
this)
