Hi,

I want to merge the code for the non-contiguous selections into trunk. So, it 
has more testers as it keeps on living in its own branch. The small issues 
mentioned in my last thread are solved, I think. The code make it also 
possible to resize highlighted ranges as it touches Robert's recently added 
code.

If we don't manage to convert all ops to work on non-cont. selections, we are 
able to switch the latter off. And everything should work as before.

If no one objects, I'll merge tomorrow.
