A small text for the Karbon website.
I tried to explain a little what the difference is between a vector
based drawing and a pixel based drawing. It's hard to explain this
completely without getting boring though. So I tried it with an
example.

--------------------------------------

Karbon is a vector drawing application for KOffice. Karbon gives you
the possibility to create complex drawings without loosing quality.
Easily and quickly transform your ideas to first class drawings with
Karbon.

What makes a vector drawing different from a pixel based drawing?
In a pixel based drawing, a line contains an amount of pixels. When
this lined is zoomed in, the pixels will be enlarged. This means that
the quality of the image will go down.
With a vector drawing, this same line is not made up out of pixels,
but contains a start and an end point. The computer will fill in all
the pixels necessary between the start and end point. Each time the
line is zoomed, the computer will calculate the new amount of pixels
from the start point to the end point again. This way, zooming in on
the line will not enlarge the pixels, but will increase the amount of
pixels. Doing this will keep the quality of an image.
