Of course not.
I mean to create a simple function like loadGradient(filename), and it
returns a generic gradient structure for koffice programs to use (in
their resource servers), instead of each program parsing those files
themselves.
You only change this file to include or update gradient formats, or
even do this by filters, but I'm not sure that's really necessary.
