Hello,

a used to install koffice to /usr/local which has write permission for the
group staff set which I belong to, using./configure --prefix=/usr/local/ .
But since some time this does not work anymore. I get the following error if
I do make install:

 /bin/sh ../../libtool --silent --mode=install /usr/bin/install -c -p
'kofficewidgets.la' '/usr/lib/kde3/plugins/designer/kofficewidgets.la'
/usr/bin/install: cannot remove
`/usr/lib/kde3/plugins/designer/kofficewidgets.so': Permission denied
make[4]: *** [install-kde_widgetLTLIBRARIES] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/kde/koffice/lib/kofficeui'
make[3]: *** [install-am] Error 2
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/kde/koffice/lib/kofficeui'
make[2]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/kde/koffice/lib/kofficeui'
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/kde/koffice/lib'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

Obviously make install tries to
delete /usr/lib/kde3/plugins/designer/kofficewidgets.la. This is not correct
if I install koffice to /usr/local, isn't it? make install should not touch
things in /usr/lib... but use /usr/local/lib. This started happening about a
week ago, if I remember correctly. Can this be fixed?

Greetings,
Michael
