From what I understood, the WMF support in KOffice is for some kind of
"embeddable clipart", which are only viewable / printable (KoPicture, I
believe). Karbon is about implementing vector images which are actually
editable.
I don't think WMF is such a good format for editable images. The rendering
model of WMF / GDI and Karbon / Postscript quite differ.
