Indeed; in fact all of KSpread (and about all KOffice apps) are licenced 
under the LGPL.

What is important to note here is that the LGPL also disallows misuse by 
companies in the sense that using code is not possible.
Due to the nature of koffice (just about everything is a library) companies 
are allowed to use certain parts of koffice in their own applications by 
linking against it.
In fact; its even incuraged to do so since that means KOffice can grow 
faster.
