The format uses synonyms separated by colons. The # is used to specify more 
general words. For example:

;car;auto;automobile;machine;motorcar;#;motor vehicle;automotive vehicle;

car, auto etc. are synonyms, motor vehicle etc. are superordinate words to 
car, auto etc.. For example one can say "a car is a motor vehicle".

The format is different to OOo's (they use a binary format for one of their 
two thesaurus files).
