There is a not so simple way to fix this.
Do NOT use KWord to render your text, use GhostScript.
First, you need to go to, in the Control Center:
Peripherals -> Printers : Print Manager -> Configure Manager
Select: "Fonts" and uncheck the box: "Embed fonts in PostScript data when
printing". Now GhostScript will render the fonts.
You may want to install the fix for Bug #59367:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59367
You will need to properly configure GhostScript for this to work.
