Sure you can - just like Konqueror can embed all the KOffice components.
KoDocument has a "single view" mode, which gets activated automatically
if you open the koffice part with the standard KParts way (see KParts::ComponentFactory).

However I don't think this kind of high-level integration is what you want.
You want to draw things yourself, not to just let the user use karbon
embedded in your app.

I'll let the karbon devels answer on the other part :)
