I have started (since few days only) a chart/plotter library... a bit similar 
to the Qwt library but I hope more flexible. I am in the early coding phase 
... I perharps plan (if I have some time left) to aggregate this library with 
some KSpread part to create a program similar to Kaleidagraph or Origin if 
you know them (which are plotter and spreadsheet for scientific use). Not 
sure I will have the will thought :)
