Hi, 

i have also been looking into it, the dialogbox itself is the smallest 
problem. the real problem is, that exactly that dialogbox is used in all 
koffice programs, and not only in the case of initially starting the program, 
but also when you select file -> new... in the program and when you select 
insert -> object frame -> any application.

so the problem is i couldnīt find out from the initdoc() method, which calls 
the KoTemplateChooseDia::choose(...) if it is called from an initial startup, 
or if it is called from another koffice program for the purpose of embedding 
it into the other program. (well, i couldnīt find out why and from where 
initdoc is called when embedding at all ... )

i already understood the rest enough to finish this in some days, when i can 
distinguish between these two cases in intidoc(). i changed the sources 
locally, so that the templatechoosedia also displays a "dont show me again" 
checkbox, and at closing the dialog, it saves the value into the users 
preferences, and i added a check for this value in the initdoc() , where the 
dialog is only opened, when the flag is not set.
still todo is to always display the dialog, when used fro embedding, as 
described above, and to not display the open recent and open file part of the 
dialog, when called from the file -> new... dialog, as this functionality is 
already given from file -> open and file -> open recent...

if somebody (david ?) could guide me to solve this, i could fix this and post 
a patch. (i donīt want to commit this without getting some opinions...)
