Can anybody confirm that KWord's RTF import filter is not working currently?

I get constantly XML parsing errors, the exact error being dependant on the 
document that I try to import.

From what I have seen the RTF import filter adds garbage characters, which 
some of them escaping < characters by shifitng them somewhere else in the 
Unicode space. (To be clear the < is right, but it is the previous characters 
that is an UTF-8 shift.)

So I suppose that somewhere an initialisation is failing. However I have not 
the time to test anything (or to make a bug report which an useful but short 
test file. I am sorry.)
