I suppose that the problem is over now. Look at the revision 1.20 of the file 
kdelibs/kio/kio/kzip.cpp.

OpenOffice uses a variant of the ZIP format that KZip could not read. (However 
this variant is an official one and supported by PKUNZIP.)
