i'm happy to announce a new part in koffice family. as you maybe already ha=
ve=20
noticed a subdir named "kexi" appeared in koffice root.
kexi is a database management tool providing comfortable things like a=20
querydesigner and a relationdesigner. due the port to KoFramework not all o=
f=20
the features work, we hope that we will get those working again and can sta=
rt=20
with implementing new features. Currently only MDI is supported. To see=20

kexi brings it's own SQL library (KexiDB). With KexiDB you should be able t=
o=20
preform nearly all tasks without writing manual SQL statements. using a=20
plugin based backend concept, you can use Kexi as a frontend for an arbitra=
ry=20
database. However, currently there is only a backend for mySQL. For people=
=20
that dislike running database server, we plan on embedding an additional=20
backend that will be shipped with kexi for the highquality file-engine CQL+=
+=20
(www.cql.com) which allows embedding databases into the=20
projectfile and enable easy document exchange.
