How about making changelog (in file CHANGES) to be reverse chronological ? 
This way, changes between 1.2RC1 and 1.2 will be listed on top of the file, 
not at the end of the file. KSpread CHANGES file is already like that, while 
KWord and KPresenter aren't. I can volunteer to do that if nobody objects.
