Yes, you did. Sorry. KMail currently doesn't like 
news.uslinuxtraining.com. I use KNode now...

This is the list I saw on koffice-devel:

I see. No problem. I already only point to www.koffice.org/DTD/ anyway, 
instead of individual dtd's.

Do you mean "only when they exist" or "only when it's certain that 
they'll be released alongside KOffice 1.2?".

I'd say, if we know quite sure that an app will get into a release, then 
register _before_ release and make sure no-one uses an old x- mime type 
anymore. Else, I'd suggest using the projected mime type, prepended by 
"x-":
  application/x-vnd.kde.kdatabase
and drop the x- on sucessful registering when it's almost certain that 
it will be released.
