With KWord (the only app I know well enough), you can
count on most of the GUI remaining stable. Certain
sections are still under review, but not much.

I don't know much more about SuSE, but with a new user
and new KDE PATHS, it should be possible to compile
from source in seperate directories without any
problems.

I also think a nice tutorial, that would bring
together multiple koffice apps, would be a tutorial on
creating a KWord document, creating a kspread
screenshot and including the spreadsheet in
kword......
