KDE uses namespaces, so you can assume that it is portable for KDE. Old C++ compilers do not have namespaces but they are lacking also newer key C++ features like templates. As for classes in classes, I am not sure, but I think that it is quite the same. If the compiler can do namespaces, it can do classes in classes. May be someone else knows it better than I do.
