No. gcc 3 can't compile KDE, and gcc 2.x and 3.x aren't binary compatible
(so you can't use a KOffice that was compiled with gcc 3 if the rest of
kde was compiled with 2.x).

I'm not having any problems here with gcc 2.96-97 - you might want to
update to that.
