OK, there was no kformula.desktop in the ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk/Office and 
in the /usr/share/applnk-mdk directoriesn which are the directories used by 
Mandrake 8.0. I add the file from /usr/share/applnk/Office and now the 
kformula editor appears in the "tools/insert" menu.
