I have to agree.  I WANT auto-check for most of my writing, but, 
with some subjects, it's a pain in the neck to have it on.  I 
spellcheck those later.  With all modern writing programs with 
which I am familiar, this is a feature that can easily be turned 
on or off.  Should be in KWord, as well.
