Thanks for the tip but unfortunately It made no difference to my problem.
I have also tried reverting to the kde-2.1-beta2 build that still on my
system and installing this Koffice build onto that. Still no olefilters
though.

Any other ideas anyone ?

The only thing I have use windows for now is word (and at work). Staroffice
seems too bloated and flaky to me. Are there any other half decent Linux
W/P's (preferably open source) that can read msword97 files ? I don't intend
to give up getting Koffice to work but would like to cease using windows at
home at all if possible.
