Hi!

I really think that you should give KOffice a try. Unfortunately it's not yet
that
easy to install, but programmers are developing the stuff all the time.

Filters that enable exporting to MS-Office have not been made - yet. I haven'nt
seen or heard said that they will never be there. There's also some ways you
can share documents between these suites - you can export KOffice documents
in a format that can be read in MS-Office. This does in some cases meen that
you lose some of layout etc. You can also use KOffice and export your documents
trough StarOffice.

Right now developers are working to get KDE 2 working better, and because of
this there is not new features coming soon.
