I think that, first of all, the KOffice hackers
seem to be focusing on bringing in KO 1.0 in
sync with KDE 2.0, sans nasty bugs. This is an
eminent goal. Adding new apps is attractive as
a daydream subject. Alas the practical reality
is that they're Just Too Busy (someone correct
me if I'm wrong :).

My own outlook is that such a system would be
dramatically simplified if, with KO 2, the
codebase migrates to a client-server structure.
Allow the logic and document to reside on one
machine, allow views across a network at
different terminals. The addition of "groupwork"
tools then becomes fairly trivial - minor
extensions on existing code, rather than a
new, self-contained *additional* codebase
(and source of bugs!).

be well;

JC.
