isStoredExtern() was removed not so long ago. But when I say "support for"
I don't mean much... Basically it was only that method
(returned true if the URL for the child doc wasn't a tar:// URL)
and the loading code that loaded the file from there.
Well, that's all that is needed in koDocument.
The rest (the UI part of it) is still to be imagined...
(e.g. another menuitem [action], or a button for opening the file dialog
from the part chooser dialog...)

Yup. But KWord, KPresenter and KIllu have good candidates for those classes...
