However, these aren't much good as "native formats". rtf is too "physical" and html is fairly limited. Having said that, the Koffice people much to their credit *are* using an "open format", at least as open as possible. Koffice is xml based. xml is a general method for defining document formats ( so the fact that two different document formats are xml based doesn't make them interchangeable ). However, the fact that they've used xml will make it easier to write filters. -- Donovan
