Hi, i've looked at the koffice site and have been more than impressed and
i'm about to download the source tree and install. A feature i've long
sought in my DTP software and (eck) Microsoft Word is a way to define style
and document structure with an SGML or SGML-like editor. A DTD wouldn't even
be needed, though it could be an optional enhancement to fine-tune
inheritance and such of styles and structure. Basically, an importer or
special document editing mode where you can write tags around yr content
would allow you to create a style/structure element on the fly.

for example, importing a text file:

<mydoc>

	<title>Test DOcument</title>

	<Heading1>Test Text</Heading1>

	<ancienttext>Gallia est omnes partes tres...</ancienttext>

</mydoc>

would on import add any styles not defined (mydoc, title, ancienttext), and
i could associate whatever formatting later. It seems like all the
foundation work is there, since KWord recognizes some sort of document
structure and supports styles...

Again, if this is as awesome as it seems to be....

christian.
