The only wrong thing you're doing is using an out-of-date compiler
(a rather old version of egcs?) Well, you can either get
egcs and recompile everything from scratch (that is, Qt, kde and koffice),
/or/ change the compiler flags so that -O2 is no longer used.
On the other hand, if you're using something like egcs 1.1 you might have
dodgy hardware - memory in particular.
