KMail is an application of the KDE PIM suite, so a better mailinglist to as=

question about it would be kdepim-users.

You can alsways backup mails and configuration before doing an upgrade just=
 to=20
be save, however I am not aware of anyone having had data or configuration=
=20
loss due to a KMail upgrade.
