From koffice Wed Sep 26 06:42:13 2007 From: Terry Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2007 06:42:13 +0000 To: koffice Subject: kword styles in odt not read by Open Office and others from OO source Message-Id: <46F9FF45.2060707 () yahoo ! com ! au> X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=koffice&m=119078898700243 This problem surfaced recently in a thread on oooforum: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=62582 . An issue has been filed with openoffice.org: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81714 Unfortunately, it is not only Open Office which is not reading the styles in the document created by KWord. Star Office (admittedly from the same source) and Lotus Symphony (from earlier Open Office code) also fail to interpret the styles in the KWord document - see the following post in the oooforum thread: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=251109#251109 Another post in the thread reports that KWord correctly reads styles in a document created by Open Office : http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=250765#250765 All of which could mean one thing or the other. I suspect the problem lies with Open Office not being able to apply open document styles created by another application but perhaps more collaboration is needed between providers of software using open document standards. Does anyone have any relevant knowledge of the matter? The test document is at http://files.boxstr.com/8591/Examples/TestKWord.odt . I have downloaded a copy and can upload it to another location if preferred. -- Cheers, Terry I try to take one day at a time - but sometimes several days attack me at once (Ashleigh Brilliant) ____________________________________ koffice mailing list koffice@kde.org To unsubscribe please visit: https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/koffice
