Are you running on Fedora? There are quite a few import and export filters for
other file formats included with KOffice, but Fedora makes that a separate
installation package.

We're not spending much time on the import and export filters for KOffice
2.0 -- we're just trying to improve our odf support. However, recently
Microsoft apparently released the file format specifications for their old
binary file formats, so volunteers could start improving our import/export
filters for, for instance, .doc.

(Of course, our .doc import filter was already pretty good, it was just that
KWord couldn't correctly handle to contents of those documents, like tables.)
