Summary: Some Koffice apps reverse parentheses when entering
Hebrew text
Product: koffice
Version: unspecified
Platform: Mandriva RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: koffice kde org
ReportedBy: neoclust mandriva org
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
mandriva bug: http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19355
Here's how to reproduce:
1. Install Mandriva 2006 with Hebrew locale and unicode
2. Change KDE default font to "Miriam" and restart the session (this test will
not work with the default Nachlieli font - it has it's own reversed parentheses
bug - see http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19310)
3. Here are some snapshots of KDE apps in which a Hebrew text with parentheses
were entered - some work ok and some are broken:

Krita - ok
http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/7/snapshot14ct.png
Kspread - ok
http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/9774/snapshot23fp.png
Kword - BROKEN

Kpresented - BROKEN
There used to be an old QT bug that caused Hebrew parentheses
to be reversed when writing Hebrew text - this problem was presumably fixed
(http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59178). I have no idea if the KOffice bug
is related to that or not.
