Summary: batch conversion tool, not command line but a graphical
                    Assistant/Wizard for converting files
           Product: koffice
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: koffice kde org
        ReportedBy: horkana maths tcd ie

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

batch conversion tool, not just command line but a graphical \
Assistant/Wizard for converting files

note a Wizard/Assistant like OpenOffice provides for batch conversion is \
only a suggested implementation, the point is we know from their example \
this could be a useful feature. there are a variety of different ways this \
could be implemented and even a simple version which works would be great \
and more sophisticated versions could be added later.

As I am sure you know Koffice include koconverter but it is not very \
discoverable and most ordinary users will not want to use the command line. \
This functionality already exists, the Koffice developers should show off \
the hard work they have done and provide a user interface so that everyone \
can make use of it.

This is a feature which could be potentially incoroporated into every \
KOffie app in a consistent way and help encourage the use of OpenDocument. \

Krita in particular requires ImageMagick a powerful tool for batch \
processing and it seems almost like a waste not to provide user with an \
easy to use graphical frontend to better exploit and leverage this existing \
functionality (done right you could kick the pants off of the Automation \
tools in Adobe Photoshop and it would be largely about putting a nice \
front on all the hard work which has already been done). \
