The old formats of KOffice need a file called maindoc.xml as main file. Normally it is in the zip (or tar.gz) but with the uncompressed XML format, this internal design is visible outside.

It has already been critized that the save dialog becomes user-unfriendly in this mode. (I even think that there is already a bug report about it.)
