Using Open Office filters in KOffice is simply impossible. This is because the code for the OO filters is absolutely tied to the code in Open Office, and it would take such a very long time to 'crow-bar' it all out and integrate it with KOffice that simply better filters could have been written for KOffice to start off with. Unfortunately, 'open source software' does not always mean that you can take code from one project, transfer it to another and have it magically work. That's what people have misunderstood on this topic. You really should be directing this to one of the Open Office mailing lists and asking them why their filters are not portable, or at the very least, are not designed to be more portable.
