Unfortunately I don't know much about wv2, except that it is used in word 
filters for KWord.  

But I have another warning to you:  Fedora Core 4 is compiled using gcc 4.0.0, 
a compiler that is known to produce bad code for KDE.  I don't know how the 
Fedora gang pulled this off, but a guess is that they compiled KDE with gcc 
3.4 and the rest with gcc 4.0.  These two versions produce binary compatible 
object code. Gcc 4.0.0 is thus blacklisted, and you will not even be able to 
run configure to the end before it complains.

I had to manually install a snapshot of a prerelease of gcc 4.0.1 to be able 
to compile KDE and Koffice on my Fedora Core 4 laptop.  You might have to do 
the same.
