This does appear to be a Kprinter issue since what is currently needed 
is a way for apps to access to "Print to File (PDF)" directly and set 
the "Output file" name -- to "print" a PDF without going through the 
Print dialog.  Then this should be added to the KDE Standard Actions.

There remain issues with font embedding. that need to be addressed, and 
if possible, GhostScript should do the embedding for TrueType fonts.
