Summary: KOffice applications do not start, kbuildsycoca doesn't
do anything
Product: koffice
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: koffice kde org
ReportedBy: nick nature cc
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.2.2, (testing/unstable))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040401)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.6-1-386
Every KOffice application, when executed from shell or the menu, seeks the HD for \
half a second, then gives up without a warning. No logfile is dumped to ~. \
.xsession-errors contains no pertaining information.
The bouncing cursor is displayed to the timeout, yet KOffice apps (any) do not start.
Debian, installed from the latest testing sources and koffice was updated to unstable \
in an attempt to fix it. Reinstalled all of KOffice several times without positive \
results. Deleted the test profile several times without any results.
Executed kbuildsycoca with the following messages to STDOUT:
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
kbuildsycoca running...
Reusing existing ksycoca
kbuildsycoca: WARNING: Property 'X-KDE-Weight' is defined multiple times \
(KOfficeFilter)
Could be related to the problem, clarification needed.
Thank you.
